Did you know 2024 marks 10 years of Aldin & Aurelija? It’s been a great decade of love and it’s about time we threw an ultimate party. That’s right! We are getting married and You are Soooo Invited.

It would be amazing if you could join us on our special day – 14th of September. The following day we invite everybody to the afterparty.

The best gift for us is the time spent with You! Therefore, we hope you can arrive earlier and stay a little longer. As a group we can see and experience so much more! Our advice is to book holiday between 11^th – 18^th of September.

We hope You are feeling adventurous this year, because Our Wedding will take place in Montenegro, by a beach town Dobra Voda. We know it takes a commitment to get there, but we will give our best to make it really fun and worth it. Let’s make that memory together!

Location

On The Wedding Day we will take you different locations around the city of Bar and a beech town Dobra Voda. We suggest You stay in Dobra Voda, which is like a suburban area of Bar. Staying in Bar is also a great option.

Look for flights to closest airports: Podgorica or Tivat. Montenegro is a really small country, so alternatively, check flights to Tirana (Albania) or Dubrovnik (Croatia).

You will still need a transfer from airport to your holiday home and back. We will do our best to help you arranging that as well as finding flights.

If you like roadtrips – this is the one you want to take. Arriving to Dobra Voda is a very beautiful experience. Regardless if you choose to cross the mountains or drive alongside the coast – the Nature is Picture Perfect.

What documents do I need to travel to Montenegro?

Montenegro is outside of European Union, which means you need a passport for your travel. You do not need a visa to enter the country. Check your, your partners/kids passports in good time to make sure their expiration date is not approaching. Many countries do not allow you in if your passport is soon to be expired. To enter Montenegro, your passport must: have a ‘date of issue’ less than 10 years before the date you arrive, and have an ‘expiry date’ at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave. Remember that different countries might have different regulations.
A TIP: Make sure you get your passport stamped at the border control.

What is the local currency?

In Montenegro the local currency is Euros, which makes it very convenient for most of you. However, if you are coming from Denmark, UK or other countries, make sure to have Euros with you or use a Revolut card. Withdrawing Euros in the local ATM’s can be ridiculously pricy.

What languages can I get by in Montenegro?

In Montenegro people speak Montenegrin, however, many may understand if you speak Russian or English.
Montenegrin is a Slavic language, and to foreign ear sounds same as Bosnian, or Serbo-Croatian. If you know Russian or Polish you might be able to understand simple sentences spoken slowly.

I have never visited this part of the world, what can I expect?

Montenegro is a safe country to travel to, regardless of your age or gender. Montenegro has a liberal and open society. There are no political or religious restrictions that apply to locals or foreigners. You will blend in either way if you bathe in a bikini or a burkini.

People are friendly and full of temperament. You are allowed to drink alcohol in public, and the only restriction for buying alcohol is age. A large part of population is smoking so you may places where smoking inside is allowed.

In Dobra Voda many houses have a water storage tank since the public water system does not reach them. This means that you should not drink the tap water. Once you arrive it is smart to stock up on drinking water in a local supermarket in advance. If you come with a car you can take a little drive up the mountains and do as the locals do – stock up on a local spring water that is both free and safe to drink.

How expensive is it in Montenegro?

Compared to Western or Northern Europe, USA or UK, Montenegro is an affordable destination. Here you can easily arrange a budget friendly vacation as well as high-end luxury stay. If you are looking for cheaper options, you can seek to shop for food in a local grocery store, cook at home, and prepare your snacks in advance. Dobra Voda has a nice grocery store called Voli where you will find all the basics you need, and in the town of Bar you can find large, modern supermarkets equipped with everything you can think of.

40 eur/day will be around an average price per person including all costs. Here are some average prices for you to compare:
a cup of coffee: 1,5-2,5 eur.
a beer: 3-5 eur.
a glass of wine: 5 eur.
a dish in a nice restaurant: 14-25 eur.

What is The Wedding Day plan for kids?

This answer will be updated once we’ll know the exact number of children quests. However, here is what we know so far.
The Wedding Day will be roughly divided into 3 parts: Ceremony, Reception and Party. We will start early, and if all goes by plan The Ceremony location will be a great attraction for kids of all ages. Make sure your little ones had breakfast, are wearing sunscreen, have hats and and they shall be just fine. There will be place and space for them to run around, be curious and exploratory.
Before we all meet again at The Reception past midday, there should be a window of about 1,5-2 hours, during which the smallest of our guest could potentially catch a nap in their holiday home. That is of course, if you book your stay in Dobra Voda. You might skip on some entertainment during the nap time, but consider this option if it fits your homely routine.
At the Kalamper Hotel & SPA, where we plan our reception, they have a kids play room, where children can spend their energy and entertain once the grown up talk gets too boring. Just note that the play room is downstairs, while The Reception is upstairs – we will have to address the fact that there shall be someone at all times watching kids besides the staff girl. Though this part we will figure out later.
The Party location may also be very interesting for kids. We are sure they will enjoy it very much as long as they are not too tired. However, we have arranged it just outside of Dobra Voda, meaning you won’t be able to simply walk home. We had imagined that once the sun sets down there will be an early transport arranged, taking guests who have to go home with their kids to put them to sleep.
On a last note, we are planning a long and eventful day, thus we think we will all be spent just around the midnight. If your child can hold up to that point, maybe it will be just like another New Years Day for them.
